Wow. Today is July 24th 2009. On July 24th 1999 it was the summer after my sophomore year in high school. It was a Saturday, and I had planned to go bowling with my best friend Wendy that night. Of course like 16 year old girls do, we were planning to meet some boys at the bowling alley. She was meeting her boyfriend Chad and Chad was bringing his best friend. We stopped at a gas station on the way and the boys happened to pull in and see us. They pulled up beside us (in the green bronco) and as Wendy and Chad jumped out to see each other. I leaned forward to see Chad's friend as he did the same. We saw each other, smiled, and then quickly sat back. Then, we headed over to the bowling alley. We never got to bowl but were just as happy sitting around and talking, laughing, and being silly. My curfew was so early we didn't even make it off the waiting list for a chance for a bowling lane. This boy was really cute, and what was with me, I was usually such a dork but I was keeping my cool, I guess... It was time to leave and as the boys were walking us back to the car Chad paged his friend and put in my phone number. I got in the car and just as I was about to shut the door, he caught it before it could close. He leaned down, showed me his pager and said "is this your number" I said "yes", he then asked "can I call you?", I said "yes", then he asked "can I kiss you?", I for some crazy reason said "yes" and he went for it...awkward...yes....eyes open...most the time....It was my first "kiss kiss" and he had obviously done this before. As I hear Wendy asking Chad "are they STILL kissing?", I can't help but smile. That boy stole my heart that night, and never gave it back. Thank you Travis for being the most wonderful boy in the world, for kissing me and then never giving up :) I love you!!! You will always be my first and last kiss, my first and last love.
We finally decided on a name...Paisley. She is getting big and we are counting down the days,18 until we make the trek to Virginia to pick her up. Here is an updated picture of her.
So we are finally ready (i think) to make an addition to the little Harville family. She is almost 4 weeks old and we are counting down the days until we get to go pick her up! She is in Virginia and we will be making a puppymoon out of the trip :) We are still racking our brains to come up with the perfect name for her. Here she is, knowing she is in a photo shoot for her new mom and dad! She is a Catahoula Bulldog which is a mixed breed (not a mut) that is half Catahoula Leopard Dog and half American Bulldog.
Here are some pics of her parents so you can see what she will look like. Her parents are both a 50/50 mix. Scarface on the left is the dad and Tonti on the right is the mom.
